The Dublin Cycling Campaign is an independent, voluntary lobby group that has been working to improve the city for all cyclists for over a decade and a half.
Newsletter Editor Volunteer Sought
Dublin Cycling Campaign are looking for a cycling enthusiast who might like to volunteer to help pull together and edit our quarterly newsletter.
A short outline of what might be involved follows. For a recent example see the December 2009 Newsletter.

Brief for Editor of Dublin Cycling Campaign Newsletter
1 Purpose
To distill general material into a presentable format for distribution to parties identified below.
2 Market
• Dublin Cycling Campaign Members: The newsletter is a way of making regular contact with members who do not attend meetings of visit our website.
• Dublin Cycling Campaign Contacts List: The newsletter is sent to the campaign’s wider list of contacts such as journalists, other activists, politicians and professionals.
• Website: The newsletters will be kept on a page on the website and can be a good summary of what we do and have done in the past for new visitors to the site.
• Misc: Paper copies of the newsletter can be available at events to show people what we do.
3 Format
A few sides of A4 .pdf which can printed if required. A mixture of short articles, interviews, photos and graphics. The Newsletter Editor has freedom to develop this to the desired level.
4 Frequency
2 – 4 times a year minimum.
5 Advertising
We haven’t actively chased sponsorship or advertising but have accepted it where it has been offered. There may be opportunities to increase this.
6 Raw Material
Cycling Campaign members will forward relevant material which might be of interest for articles to the Newsletter Editor. This could be from:
• Interesting postings on email fora or the Dublin Cycling Campaign website.
• The press.
• Events
• Topical work done by campaign members
7 Editing
If editorial choices are required on what content to include or the nature of the content the items will be referred to a small editorial sub-committee by email or in person.
