We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the new Rothar shop: “Re-cycling for the community”
The project will be officially launched by Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government John Gormley, TD, and at 9.30am on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 in the shop at 171 Phisborough road, Dublin 7
Background:
The Rothar project has existed since May 2008 to encourage a re-cycling mentality in Dublin. Rothar sets out to reduce waste by recycling bicycles, to promote cycling through training and courses and to promote social inclusion by working with local community groups on bicycle related projects. We have had a great first year in operation, so much so that we have had to move from our first premises, a garage down a lane in Phibsborough to a shop at 171 Philbsborough road.
Rothar reuses and recycles scrap bicycles, reducing waste, providing a sustainable mode of transport and community-based education to promote social inclusion. Our organisation advocates for self-empowerment of disadvantaged communities by promoting vocational training and eco-friendly mobility.
