David Smith, a​ writer and artist​ interested in ‘creative interventions in the city’ recently attended the World Bicycle Forum held in Medellin, Colombia, a city more renowned for its drug history than for citizens’ participation. But come along to his discursive presentation on his experiences and interaction with this wonderful city and event. Learn more about what is happening in other continents on city developments​, on bike transport growth,​ and citizen participation!

David ​studied architecture here in DIT and in the Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá, Colombia. He has worked in various private practices and for the OPW. He currently works in the Instituto Cervantes Dublin. From an artistic perspective, he engages in creative interventions in the city. In 2013 he joined the art collective Siteation and has been involved in various different festivals around the country.
