DLR Living Streets - Approval by Councillors

Dublin Cycling Campaign warmly welcomes the passing of a “Part 8” vote for the Dun Laoghaire town Pathfinder project, Living Streets early this morning (Tue 12 March 2024).

The Council ran a 10 week public consultation which showed a majority in favour of the Living Streets plan.

The Dun Laoghaire branch of the Dublin Cycling Campaign was one of many civic groups, including the Dun Laoghaire Tidy Town and Dun Laoghaire Business Association who came out in favour of the plans and actively canvassed the public to show support.

Speaking after the vote, local cycling campaigner Daniel Walsh said:

“We commend the councillors for adopting the plans with such a strong majority of votes. There was huge support from so many local residents and civic groups in favour of the plans. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has been working to progress an active travel network in the county and Living Streets will form a key part of that network. We look forward to continuing to engage with the Council’s active travel team on this and future initiatives.”
