Britain's Bicycle Economy: A Booming Business

Britain’s booming cycling economy made headlines this week with a 24 page report from the London School of Economics putting it in the spotlight. ECF Policy Officer Martti Tulenheimo comments on the news.

Artists' Competition for Electric Picnic Ticket

Artists, Dublin Cycling Campaign has one free Electric Picnic ticket up for grabs but you are going to need to do a little work for it! This year we will be creating our Bicycle Space in the Global Green area of Electric Picnic and expect to be engaging with lots of picnicers passing through over the weekend & chatting to them about our visions of truely bicycle friendly societies. We want to build on last year's activities and want to have more fun with passers by, so we plan to make a 'Head Through the Hole' cutout (also know as Comic Foreground, mugboard etc..) July Social Cycle - Dutch Cycling Symphonies in Dublin

Folks! Once again its time to get on yer bike, explore your city, and share the experience with like-minded people!  

After 2 very successful outings in May and June this year the Dublin Cycling Campaign are piggy backing on an innovative and fun event on Saturday 23rd July next, being run jointly by the Dutch Embassy and Bear Bicycles. The event will commence at 12.30pm in Emorville Avenue off South Circular Road,- log on to www.bear-bicyclescom   to get full details of the magical trip.

The Dutch Embassy Dublin (www.netherlandsembassy.ie) and Bear Bicycles (a company selling Dutch bicycles in Dublin: www.bear-bicycles.com) are bringing an Amsterdam Choir ‘Koor de Stemming’ (www.koordestemming.nl) to perform ‘Cycling Symphonies’: a musical cycling tour through Dublin on Saturday, July 23rd

Minnesota rules not 'funny-looking'

 Just to show that, in sharing the roads, there certainly are different strokes for different folks:

These succinct and useful rules from Minnesota don't require rear red lights for cyclists, do mandate for helmets, and laudably set out a 3-foot (90cm) overtaking clearance:
